Angelyn Strain Messer

Angelyn "Angie" Strain Messer, 83, of Waynesville, North Carolina passed away September 24, 2025.
Born April 3, 1942 in Jackson, Mississippi, she was the beloved daughter of the late Haldane and Marylene Strain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Feichter.
Angelyn found great purpose in her family's music store, but her passions extended far beyond her work. She cherished riding horses and had a love for stock car racing. She was known for spreading laughter and joy wherever she went. Angelyn had a profound love for animals and a green thumb for growing beautiful flowers. Most importantly, she treasured the moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 62 years, Ralph Messer; her sons, James Andrew Messer and his fiancé Meagan Peters and Michael Alan Messer and his wife Alisha; her grandchildren, Bryson, Keaton, Hanna and her significant other Daniel Ross, Tyler and his wife Brianna, and Isaac; a great-grandchild, Scarlett.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Smoky Mountain Cremations and Funeral Service with Bobby Rogers officiating. The family will be receiving from 2:00 to 4:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Antioch Church Cemetery.
