McCreary County Funeral Home - Whitley CitySandra “Sue” Ada Messer, 58 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Monday, November 3, 2025 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
Sue was born in Marshes Siding, Kentucky on March 29, 1967 the daughter of the late Les and Cora (Perkins) Perry. She was a homemaker and enjoyed coloring, camping, flea marketing, helping people and being with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Eddie Perry and Lawrence Eugene Perry; sisters, Elsie Taylor and Wilma “Tod” Baker; sister-in-law, Delie Vanover’ and nephew, Anthony Vanover.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer Messer of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; daughter, Jennifer Powers (Adam) of Bronston, Kentucky; son, Willie Messer of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; sisters, Mary “Mert” Hollars of Whitley City, Kentucky and Glenna Watson of Revelo, Kentucky; grandchildren, Diamond Powers, Lily Powers, Neveah Powers; great grandchild, Elowen Denney; and best friend, Phillip Vanover.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Pleasant Knob United Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Vanover Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Thursday at the Church.
