Anita Louise (Ross) Eberle, 81, of Oil City, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 8, 2025, with her devoted husband, Thomas Blair Eberle, by her side.

Born in Alexandria, Pennsylvania, on September 19, 1943, to the late Charles and Dottie Ross, Anita lived a life defined by love for family, community service, and dedication to meaningful causes.

She is survived by her loving children, Mark Eberle, Heidi Shirley, and Doug Eberle and his wife Kim; and her cherished grandchildren, Mark Tom Eberle (Angela), Tyler Eberle (Laura), Dane Eberle (Kelly), Tatum Eberle, Olivia Shirley, Danielle Nellis (Zach Nellis), and Mitchell Eberle. Anita was also blessed with great-grandchildren Grace and Connor Eberle, Amelia and Logan Eberle, and Dottie and Norman Nellis, all of whom brought her immense joy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers: Charles, Marshall, and Russell Ross.

Alongside her husband, Anita co-owned the Agway store in Oil City for decades, where she became a familiar and friendly face to local residents. She was deeply committed to her community, giving generously of her time and energy through local volunteer work. Her dedication was honored with a "Volunteer of the Year" award from the Chamber of Commerce and the "Lioness of the Year" award, along with being an active member of Zonta, the Oil City Garden Club, and the Board of Directors at the Venango County Museum of Art, Science, and Industry. A woman of kindness and integrity, Anita's legacy lives on in her family and the many lives she touched through her community involvement and friendships.

Anita, lovingly known as "Mie Mie", was the heart of her family-guiding, nurturing, celebrating every moment of their lives, and expanding waistlines with her delicious cooking. A true matriarch, Anita defined herself by the joy and closeness of her family, always placing their happiness at the center of her world. Her home hosted countless holidays and celebrations, filled with laughter, warmth, and unconditional love. More than anything, Anita was the reason her family is as close as it is today. She created memories that will last lifetimes, taking each of her grandchildren on unforgettable trips to Disney, sewing their Halloween costumes, and attending every sporting event, dance recital, and birthday party she could. Nothing stood in the way of her seeing her family, not even a global pandemic. During and after the COVID-19 pandemic, Anita ensured that her family stayed connected, hosting weekly Zoom calls for over five years. Her legacy is one of love, connection, and devotion to her family and community. To her family, she will always be "Mie Mie"-the one who never missed a moment, never forgot a birthday, and loved them all beyond measure.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. at the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Route 257, Seneca PA. A service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Oil City, 100 Central Avenue, with a one hour viewing preceding the funeral in the sanctuary. Rev. Lee Weber will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Venango County Museum of Art, Science, and Industry, 270 Seneca Street, Oil City, PA 16301; or to the Oil City Garden Club, 1607 State Route 227, Oil City, PA 16301, causes that were close to Anita's heart.
