Ann DeGroot, 86, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. She was born on October 25, 1939, to her parents Richard and Hazel (Peterson) in Menasha, Wisconsin.

Ann was raised in Wisconsin, from Winchester to Kaukauna then settling in Kimberly. She graduated from Kimberly High School. She met the love of her life Eugene at Schulers Shack in Combined Locks. They were married in February 1961 and together they raised 3 sons. After Eugene got sick, she decided to start a cake decorating business that started in the basement in 1992. After Eugene went to live in a nursing home, Ann went to Fox Valley Technical College and then became a secretary for Boldt Construction.

She followed in the Resch tradition in getting together and playing cards with the family, penny poker on Saturdays and chicken dinners on Sundays. Along with going to the casinos. She came from a big family and was especially close with her sisters.

Ann is survived by her sons Guy (Kathleen) DeGroot, Gary (Julianne Lind) DeGroot, siblings: Don (Adrian) Resch, Sandra Degoey, Gary (Sandy) Resch, Jeanne (Wayne) Smith; grandchildren: Benjamin (Jess) DeGroot, Chris (Andrea Eno) DeGroot, Richard (Sarah) Olson, Mike (Grace) Olson, Gordy Olson; great grandchildren: Brenden DeGroot, Tabatha DeGroot, Russell Olson; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Ricky DeGroot, siblings Richard Resch, Joan Anholzer, Tom Resch, Rose Harke, David Resch, Marilyn Resch, Carolyn Resch.

There will be a memorial service at St. Paul Catholic Church November 15, 410 Wallace St, Combined Locks WI 54113. Visitation will be from 9am – 11am with the funeral Mass starting at 11.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St Paul Elder services for the exceptional care they bestowed upon Ann.
