Ann Kathryn Demchak

November 6, 1951-September 25, 2025

Ann Kathryn Demchak, known affectionately as Ann, Marmie, Mom, Grandma, Memes, and Mama D to her loved ones, was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. Born on November 6, 1951, in Queens, NY, Ann's journey on this Earth came to a peaceful close on September 25, 2025, in Port Jervis, NY. Her life was one marked by devotion, compassion, and the joy she found in life's simplest pleasures.

Ann's early years were spent in the bustling streets of Ossining, where she grew up surrounded by the love and care of her parents, the late John V. Pollack and Kathryn Zeigler. She experienced the grief of loss early on with the passing of her brother, John G. "Jack" Pollack, whose memory she cherished throughout her life. Ann's education was completed at Ossining High School, where she cultivated a foundation of knowledge and character that would carry her through a lifetime of achievements.

Upon graduating, Ann embarked on a fulfilling career as a secretary, a role in which she took immense pride. Her meticulous nature and warm demeanor made her a cherished colleague and a pillar of support in her workplace. Ann's work was more than a job; it was a testament to her unwavering dedication and the professionalism she brought to every task.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Ann's heart belonged to her family. She was the beloved wife of Albert Demchak, her partner in life for an incredible 52 years. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Michael, married to Jessica, and Marie, married to Nicholas Buotte. Ann's love extended to her grandchildren, John, Morgan, Noelle, Colette, and Cylas, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Her family circle also included her cherished sister-in-laws, Helen Pollack (wife of her late brother John), Christine Tobin and her spouse James, and her nephews John J. Pollack (Debbie) and Theodore Pollack (Jen) who all held a special place in her heart.

Ann's Christian faith was an important part of her existence, guiding her actions and providing solace in times of need. Her life was a living example of the scripture, "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13). Ann embodied this verse, her love being the most profound legacy she leaves behind.

Her interests were a reflection of the simple joys she found in life. Ann loved to be surrounded by her family, whether it was puttering around the house outside, immersing herself in a good book, a word game often shared with her children and husband, or enjoying the serene beauty of the beach. Each activity was an opportunity to embrace the world around her and to create memories that her family will treasure forever.

Describing Ann as loving, kind, and selfless barely scratches the surface of the impact she had on those around her. Her unwavering kindness touched the lives of many, her selflessness was evident in every act of service, and her loving nature was the warmth that comforted many of those she encountered.

As we bid farewell to Ann, we reflect on a life that was lived with purpose and grace. Her story is one of love, a narrative woven through the lives she touched and the hearts she warmed. Though she has departed from our sight, her spirit remains an indelible part of the fabric of our lives, a gentle reminder of the beauty of a life well-lived. Ann's journey on Earth has ended, but her story-etched in the lives of her family and friends-continues. May her soul rest in the eternal peace she so richly deserves.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 626 County Road 22, Middletown, NY Monday September 29, 2025 at 11:00am.
