Dominick was born in Ossining, NY on June 28, 1937 to Joseph and Elizabeth Benedetto. The only son of their 4 children, Dom was a graduate of Ossining High School where he was a distinguished athlete and made memories and friendships that he carried with him throughout his life. He went on to become self -employed, taking much pride in his roofing and construction business, which garnered him a reputation as an honest, reliable and hard working man.
Dominick was married to his most favorite person, Susan Benedetto on May 27, 1998 at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado. Together, they endeavored into a life they both so very much loved. Dominick was deeply passionate about spending time with his congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses where he and Susan devoted much of their lives in service to others. His leadership and commitment to his fellow congregants were impactful and unwavering.
Benny loved so many things, but few as much as Visitation he loved talking sports after a good, home -cooked meal or listening to Frank Sinatra. Anyone who needed him knew they'd find him in his chair where he'd lend an ear or entertain with his colorful stories of the past.
Dominick is survived by his 4 children: Joseph (Rosemary) Benedetto, Tracey Benedetto, Michael (Aida) Benedetto and Janine Benedetto. He is also survived by Susan's 3 children, whom he loved as his own: Michelle (Edward) DeStefano, Nichole (Peter) Marra and Anthony (Jamie) Capicotti. He also leaves behind with fond memories 23 grandchildren and great- grandchildren who will miss hearing stories about his antics with lifelong best friends, Frank Faiella and Donald Ballasone. Dom also leaves behind his sister, Rose, though he was predeceased by 2 sisters, Josephine and Camella. Benny will be missed by all who knew him. And though his chair may be unoccupied now, the memories of a life well - lived will continue to bring comfort and peace. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the O'Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home.. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley, NY.
