Ann Smith Faulkner, age 86, was born on April 30, 1939, and passed away on August 30, 2025, at Ft. Sanders Hospital due to complications of having a stroke nine days previously. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John David Faulkner; parents V.T. (Jake) and Mabel McCloud Smith of Halls Crossroads, TN. She also loved dearly the deceased spouses of her sisters and brother, Ben D Bower, Gerald "Jerry" Fox and Carolyn B Smith.
Ann graduated from Halls High School in 1957. As a young person, she worked at Woolworth's on Broadway and Lerner's downtown. She worked as a secretary and office manager at Streamline Plastics Inc around 1972, then Double Q Company and retired from Long Enterprises where she worked for many years. Her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren who affectionally called her Meme.
Early on, Ann's adult life didn't go easy, but she held on to her common sense and did the best she could with the resources she had. She made sure that her children were well cared for and to grow up in a loving environment. Then she met Johnny in the late 1960's and everything eventually changed including marriage, a new house and a life filled with many good times. Every holiday, birthday, children's school activity was participated in and celebrated with enthusiasm. A lifetime of collected snapshots are vivid reminders of a family who engaged in endless memorable, happy times together.
Survived by her children, Tim (Tammy) Faulkner; Diane Faulkner, and David (Crystal) Faulkner of Knoxville; grandchildren Hunter Faulkner of Knoxville; Kate Faulkner (Ben) Nagrocki and daughter Amelia Nagrocki of Saint Augustine, FL; Eric (Johnni) Faulkner and son Jaxon Dycus of Yulee, FL; sisters Ellen Smith Fox and Janet Smith Bower of Knoxville; brothers Rhea (Brenda) Smith and R.T. "Sandy" Smith of Halls Crossroads; and many nieces, nephews and cousins scattered throughout the south.
The family would like to thank the NICU staff at Ft Sanders for the wonderful care they provided. You may call on the family at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Friends and family will gather in the Pavillion at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Pike on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 12:45 PM for a 1:00 PM Graveside Service.
