Ann Parris Hoffman

Stella Ann Parris Hoffman, passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on August 17, 1934, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Erastus and Annie Lou Parris.  

Stella dedicated her life to serving others as a School Crossing Guard for the Spartanburg Police Department, a role she proudly held for 50 years. Her devotion not only ensured the safety of countless children but also earned her a special place in the hearts of families across the community.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 70 years, William "Bill" H. Hoffman. Stella is also survived by her three children, Burt Hoffman of Spartanburg, SC, Debra Orders and her husband Ralph of Morganton, NC, and Tom Hoffman of Valdese, NC. Her grandchildren, Tasha Orders Schramer, Lindsey Orders Cox, Austin Hoffman, Macheledt and her great-grandson Liam McAllet, will always remember her kindness.

In addition to her family responsibilities, Stella found joy in her hobbies, which included planting marigolds and tending to her garden. Her love for gardening was a reflection of her nurturing nature, and her cooking skills warmed the hearts of all her family. Stella was known for being very neighborly, creating lasting connections that will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM in the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Tommy Sparks. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex. 

Stella Ann Hoffman will be remembered for her selfless service, and the love she shared with all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her passing leaves a void in her family and community, but her legacy of kindness and dedication will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
