Jane A. James "Ann", age 88, a resident of Huntingdon Valley, passed away on March 16, 2025 after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late William R. James.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late John E. Turcotte and the late Jane L. Sisson Turcotte.
Ann graduated from Abington High School in 1955. She married Bill in 1958, and they began their family the following year. After raising her children, she decided to go back to school and impressively earned her bachelor's degree in computer science from Gwynedd Mercy College in 1992 at the age of 55.
Ann was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed various activities over the years including playing bridge, crafting, bowling, reading, traveling, trips to Atlantic City, antiquing and flea marketing, and spending time in Cape May. Enjoying good meals and spending time with family and friends brought her much happiness.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Cynthia and Michael Bryant, William R., Jr. and Maryanne James, Stephen and Angela James and Christine and Jeffrey Hinks; 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and sister, Nancy Bielesch. She was preceded in death by her brother, Neal J. Turcotte.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 444 Old York Road, Jenkintown, PA, where family and friends will be received from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Acts Hospice Program through Acts Legacy Foundation, or Breathing Room Foundation Inc.
