With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Ann, who left this world on January 15, 2025 at the age of 68. She was the heart of our family, a source of unwavering love, strength, and kindness, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled.
Born on December 30, 1956, in Aurora, Illinois, Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who dedicated her life to her family, students and friends. She poured her heart into both her home and her classroom, while nurturing friendships - both new and old – that spanned over 60 years. Her deep love for her children, grandchildren, family and countless friends, along with her passion for education, were the cornerstones of her life, and her impact on those around her was immeasurable.
Ann was an honored teacher and administrator who received her B.A. in Elementary Education and Master's of Education in 1995 and 1999 respectively. She earned the Type 75 Endorsement in 1997, a Certified ESL Endorsement in 2011 and an NCLB Highly Qualified Certification in 10 subject areas. Within District 200, she was an honored Teacher, Assistant Principal, Curriculum Leader, and Response to Intervention Leader.
Ann will always be remembered for her boundless energy, warm and welcoming spirit, and love for bringing people together. She had an unmatched ability to turn any gathering into a celebration, making lifelong friends wherever she went. Her vibrant personality and passion for connecting with others shone through in everything she did. Whether traveling, spending time by the pool, playing tennis or canasta, serving as Big Sand Lake Club's first and only female president in its 134-year history, being the Director of the children's games at the Big Sand Lake Club's Fourth of July Celebration, or planning all things social, she always ensured that those around her felt included and cherished. Her legacy of friendship, laughter, and love will live on in all who knew her.
Ann is survived by her husband of 42 years, John Piccione; her son, John Piccione II (Chloe); her stepchildren, Lisa Piccione (Duane), Jennifer Piccione, and Lianne Piccione; her brothers, Tom Neukirch (Pam), Terry Miller (Cynthia), Scott Miller (Teri), and David Miller (Mary); and her sisters, Karen Miller Carroll (Matt) and Candace Miller Janidlo (Peter). She was also a beloved grandmother to Kaedon, Olivia, and Cole Hirsch; Sydney and Ethan Piccione; and Oliver and Parker Piccione, as well as a cherished aunt to 11 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many dear friends and extended family members who will continue to honor her legacy by living with the kindness, generosity, and love she instilled in them.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday April 26, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home 430 E. Roosevelt Rd. Wheaton, IL 60187. Services conclude at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Lamb's Farm, Libertyville Illinois. https://lambsfarm.org/ways-to-give/make-a-donation/
