Obituary of Anna L. Carroll
Anna Levenia Carroll (née Silvio), 78, of East Vineland, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on April 22, 2025. Born on July 29, 1946, in New York, Anna was the first daughter of seven siblings: John Silvio, Martha Haywood, Michael Silvio, Richard Silvio (predeceased), Nancy Silvio, and Timothy Silvio.
Anna attended Freehold High School in Freehold, NJ, and married the love of her life, Brian W. Carroll, on June 27, 1964, in Englishtown, NJ, at the age of 17. Together they built a life filled with love and family, raising two children: Dawn Carroll (59) and Brian Carroll (56).
A woman of many talents and endless creativity, Anna was passionate about gardening, birdwatching, floral arrangements, and especially hummingbirds. She loved to paint and had a natural eye for interior design and decorating. In her early 20s, she pursued her entrepreneurial spirit by opening a leather shop. Later, she began working as a banquet server at the Claridge Casino and Hotel, where she rose through the ranks to become Director of Catering, a role she held for 20 years. After leaving the Claridge, she went on to build her own successful event decorating business.
Anna's legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Daina Burk (37), Caitlin Burk (32), Richard King (24), and Bryton Carroll (23); and her great-grandson, Gregory Nilsen (10). She was the rock and foundation of her family - deeply loved, endlessly cherished, and respected for her quiet strength and ability to handle anything life brought her way.
Though soft-spoken, Anna carried a commanding presence. She led with quiet dignity, wisdom, and a fierce dedication to those she loved.
She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 10:00am until 11:00am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Avenue, Vineland. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Head of the River Cemetery, Estell Manor.
