Anna Ruth Helbert

Anna Ruth Helbert, age 84, of Richlands, VA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at her home. The Lord has been her refuge and ever-present help and source of strength in her life.

Anna was born on December 11, 1940, in Richlands, VA, and was the daughter of the late Ivory Killen and Pinkie Hess Killen. She attended Richlands High School and received her degree from SVCC. Anna worked as a caregiver in home health and her mission in life was to help people and be a blessing to others. She always quoted Psalm 129:8 to others "May the blessing of the Lord be upon you."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Daniel Helbert and David Helbert; brother, Ronnie Killen and his wife, Pam; son-in-law, Phillip Reynolds; and daughter-in-law, Pam Helbert.

She is survived by her:

Franklin Killen and wife, Brenda of Richlands, VA

Also surviving are seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Anna would want people to find comfort with her death through 1 Thessalonians 4:13-16:

"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first."

Funeral services for Anna Ruth Helbert will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA with Rev. Tex Sawyers officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be from 1-2 pm on Monday afternoon at the funeral home. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
