Anna Lee Morain Buschel, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, at her residence in Washington, Louisiana surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on December 2, 1935, in Port Barre, Louisiana, Anna lived a life full of warmth and love, making lasting memories with those she held dear.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington, LA. Father Matthew Higginbotham will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and burial will be held at the Palmetto Methodist Church Cemetery.
A visitation for Anna will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Anna’s Rosary Group will recite the rosary on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Murphy Ledoux, Shane Stelly, Kevin Macip, Chirs Macip, Todd Ortego, Kenneth Wyble and Edward Morain.
Anna is survived by her daughters, Erica Buschel and her fiancé, Morris “Peck” Oubre; and Gretchen Buschel and her fiancé, Mark “Mac” Jeansonne and her sister, Betty Morain Stelly and her husband, Jeffery.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Buschel; her parents, Charles Morain and Hilda Leblanc Morain; as well as her brother, Pat Morain, and sisters, Shirley Wyble and Mildred Ledoux.
Anna's legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.
