Anna Jurlene Leonard was born on June 10, 1934, in Center Union, Texas, Bastrop County. She was the sixth of eight children born to the union of Hallie and Peter McIntyre.
Anna accepted Christ in her life at Center Union Baptist Church at an early age. Upon relocating to San Antonio, she united with the New Light Baptist Church. Later, she became a charter member of the New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church and attended faithfully, until her health began to fail. During her walk with the Lord, Anna served as a devoted Sunday School participant, Usher Board Member, Mission Board Member, Senior Praise Team and mother to all at church.
Anna graduated from LaGrange High School and attended night classes at St. Philip's Jr. College. She was a devoted employee and retired from Luby's Cafeteria after 22 years of loyal service.
Anna was joined in holy matrimony to Cedean Miller, Sr. in 1963. To this union was born four children, Angela, David, Stephen and LaMonte. After Cedean's passing, she later married George Leonard.
Anna loved to fish and was once a member of the Floatilla Boating and Fishing Club. She was also a member of Cubie Hortin #14 OES, the PC Moussa Court #119, D.O.I and Loan Star Assembly #113. She loved to cook and would supply church members with homemade tea cakes.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents: Peter and Hallie McIntyre, three brothers: Tommie Lee, Willie B., Wilborn Cleveland, two sisters: Verda Mae Jones, Mattie Pearl Godley, and a great grandson: Laron Mackey.
Anna leaves to cherish her memory; daughter Angela Kelley, sons David Miller (Lisa), Stephen Miller (Adela) and LaMonte Miller, sister Margaret Anderson, brother Ernest Cylde McIntyre (Katherine), six grandkids, two great grandkids, and five bonus daughters: Gloria Walker, Mary Stanley, Jewel Hamilton-Miller, Joycelyn Miller, and Cheryl Leonard.
