Anna Ginty Smith 91, of Springfield New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2025. Born at Overlook Hospital in Summit to Mary Kirkpatrick and Joseph Daniel Ginty. She was raised in Livingston, married Daniel on October 8, 1955, and they resided in Springfield for 68 years. Anna is predeceased by her husband, Dan and Son Brian Bernard. She has survived by her sons and daughters, Daniel Jr and his wife, Debby, Nancy Jefferies and her husband, Ken, Patrick Sr and his wife Bonnie, Christopher and his wife Sylvia, Matthew and his wife Kathy, Maureen Commarato and her husband Paul. Anna was also blessed with 15 grandchildren: Daniel Smith III, Kathleen Viscidi, Brian Jeffries, Meredith Hannum, Kayla, Pennington, Patrick Smith Jr., Joseph Smith, Christina Burdge, Loreal Donovan, Kelly Reagle, Paul Commarato, Aina Smith, Hannah Smith, Matthew Smith, and Janie Smith, and 17 great grandchildren. Anna leaves behind her sister Florence Korte (Henry) and her brother Joseph Daniel (Florence).
She was an active member of Saint James the Apostle Church in the Altar Rosary Society, Eucharistic Ministry, Bible study groups, Prayer Line Ministry, and volunteered at Saint Joe's food pantry in Elizabeth New Jersey. She also stayed busy at Saint James School where some of the children attended as a PTA and mother's guild member, room mother, den mother, and volunteered at the yearly carnival.
Anna also worked many years at Dr. Neil Franzese dermatology office in Cranford, New Jersey.
Besides staying busy with seven children, she enjoyed sewing often, making many of her clothes and teaching her skills to her daughters. She was interested in photography and enjoyed documenting any get together with photos, as well as embroidery, knitting and crafts. She always enjoyed family, gatherings, and any social event. She will be greatly missed by anyone who had the great fortune to know.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Bradley Smith and Smith Funeral Home 415 Morris Ave., Springfield, NJ. The funeral mass will follow on Monday at 11 AM at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave., Springfield, NJ. Interment is at Saint Theresa's Cemetery Summit, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna's memory may be made to the Springfield First Aid Squad 10 N. Trivet Ave., Springfield, NJ 07081.
