Anne Marie Hannick, age 81, passed away peacefully at the Blue Water Hospice Home in Marysville, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on January 22, 1944, in Cheboygan, Michigan, Anne Marie was the cherished daughter of the late Jack and Marcella (Beauchamp) Wessel. Her life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and unwavering faith.
Anne Marie's life was enriched by her marriage to Emmet Hannick on December 29, 1989, in St. Clair Shores. Their union was filled with love and companionship until his passing on September 30, 2013.
Anne Marie's journey through life was marked by the deep bonds she formed with her family and friends. She is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Dean Wessel of St. Clair and Robert Nichols of Grand Rapids; her step-daughters, Elizabeth (Luca) Bizzo of Cape Coral, Florida, Jennifer (Edward) Walsh of Saline, and Patricia Dinverno of Prosper, Texas; grandchildren, Kyle Wessel, Morgan (Brad) Shoup, Abigail, Andrew, and Natalie Walsh, Nicolo Bizzo, Ava, and Angelo Dinverno; her cherished great-granddaughter, Everly Mae; siblings, James (Jackie) Wessel of Loveland, Ohio, Mary (Richard) Russel of Marysville, and Paul (Lauri) Wessel of Marysville; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Anne Marie was also preceded in death by her nephew, Jeremy Paul Russel.
A woman of genuine kindness and infectious joy, Anne Marie's spirit was a light that shone brightly in the lives of those who knew her. Her love for her family was unparalleled, and she cherished every moment spent with them, especially during her taco dinner parties, which she hosted with great enthusiasm. Anne Marie's laughter, which is fondly referred to as her "inappropriate laughter," was a hallmark of her personality, bringing warmth and happiness to any gathering.
Anne Marie's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through times of joy and sorrow with grace and strength. She enjoyed reading James Patterson novels and listening to the timeless music of Elvis.
Her home was always open, a place of hospitality and merriment, where she loved to entertain guests and create lasting memories. Anne Marie's sense of humor and her ability to find joy in the simple things in life were truly infectious. Even her fondness for a bit of gambling was a reflection of her adventurous spirit and zest for life.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 at Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center, 4521 Ravenswood Road, Kimball, MI 48074. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 1000 Michigan Ave, Marysville, MI 48040 with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Raymond Arwady will officiate.
