Today, join us in remembering Nita Annette Taylor for who she was, a mighty worshipper of the Lord. She finished her race with endurance and on February 26, 2025, crossed the finish line here and is now celebrating in heaven with Jesus.
Annette was born in Harbor City, California on July 4, 1962. From an early age, she became a follower of Christ, and that faith defined her life. During her high school years at Coronado, she learned to play the flute in the Mighty Mustang Band, but her greatest satisfaction in music was through worship and dedication to God. Her three girls will tell you that while she was a prankster and a light-hearted mother, she was fully devoted to teaching them the importance of a close relationship with Jesus and to enjoy the community at church.
A few of her favorite activities were playing games with friends and family, eating steak, and she was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed making quilts, wedding gowns, and matching dresses for herself and her girls.
She worked various retail jobs as a young woman and excelled in them due to her eye for detail and love of numbers. She eventually went into the medical field as a lab tech, and after moving to Lubbock, became a medical coder at Covenant Medical Center.
She met Steven Taylor exactly where you would expect, at church, and they were married on May 23, 2009. She joined Steve in ministering with Freedom in Jesus, where she was able to play her flute with the praise and worship team as they visited prisons around West Texas.
Annette is survived by many loved ones: her devoted husband, Steve. Her daughter Sarah and her husband Chris Kelly, and their children Abraham and Elizabeth. Daughter Susan and her husband Jonathan Fruge, and their children Charlotte and Shirley. Daughter Rebekah and her husband Jordan Elder, and their children Jason, Lucy, and Juliette. Her brother Mark Wells and his wife Tammy, and their son Reagan. Her brother Jon and Cindi Wells. She is also survived by Greg Bryan, the father of her three girls. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Carolyn Wells.
Her family will hold a service on March 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at Glad Tidings Church in Lubbock, TX. All are welcome to join us for the proceedings.
