Annie Lee Murphy, was born August 31, 1957 to the union of Annie "Ann" Collins and Clay Smith in Duncan, Mississippi. She is the third out of ten children with a twin brother James Smith. She preceded her husband Johnny Lee Murphy; her mom Annie "Ann" Collins; her two brothers James Lee Smith and Tony Lee Smith; her two sisters Barbara Denise Smith and Mattie Lee Smith; her father Clay Smith; and two grandchildren Marqueese and Aniyah.
Annie accepted Christ at an early age at Green Grove Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. She attended public schools in Chicago were she graduated from Douglas Elementary and received a high school diploma from Wendell Phillips High School in 1976.
Annie worked as a line leader at IPC for many of years where everyone knew her as "Crazy Lady." Where she also met her bestfriend Sarah Mae Ross-Williams, they was like the two golden girls where as they kicked the boots from going to plays and eating which were some of their favorite thing to do.

Annie leaves to cherish her memories three daughters Zanika (Aviance) Gooden; Kimberly (Antonio Sr.) Johnson; Angel Spurlock of Benton Harbor, MI; her only son Napoleon (Ashley) Smith of Sturgis, MI; three sisters Louise (Pablo) Collins-Herrera of Chicago, IL; Shirley Smith of Indianapolis, IN; Bunnita Smith of Benton Harbor, MI; one brother Danny "Ricky" Smith of Los Angeles, CA; seventeen grandchildren Jason Jr., Jujuan Jr., Lichelle, DeKori, Ashley, Antonio Jr., Aaliyah, Napoleon Jr., Aquavion, Antoinette, Jaysean, Jermiah, Saniyah, Aniyah, Napoleon III, Ralfell Jr., Kameron. Aunt and Uncles Jeanine Moore, Emma (LZ) Taylor, Ella (George) Randolph, Joe Diggs, Josephine (George) Davis, Ethel Joiner, Betty Coleman, Morris (Ann) Coleman. Her Special friend Tommy Hipps and a God Sister Lana Dudley and a host of nieces and nephews, and great grandchildren and friends.
