Annie Mae Sunday

Annie Mae Sunday was born on February 28th, 1935, to Edmond and Mary Sunday in Conroe, Texas. Annie Mae graduated from Conroe High School in 1953. She eventually went to Beauty school and became a hairdresser, and later in life took some college courses to help with her job. She was mostly a housewife with some side jobs over the years. She left us on August 24, 2025, at approximately 4:00 in the morning. In high school she met Billy Dean Sunday of Montgomery, Texas. He went to Montgomery High School, and because she was from Conroe, she said the girls there were unfriendly towards her because she was dating one of their favorite guys. She and Billy married in 1953, and Keith Dean Sunday was born in 1955. In just under two years, they had another son, Tony Lee Sunday. In 1979, Annie Mae went to work at the Texas State Railroad, where she initially served as a reservation clerk and was later promoted to bookkeeper. There she made some lifelong friends. She retired on March 31, 2002, after 22 years and 11 months of service. Over the years, Annie Mae served the Lord by teaching ladies' classes and many one-on-one studies as she taught about Jesus. Her biggest continuous work was writing cards, spending many dollars on cards and postage. Depending upon your relationship to her, these cards might travel overseas to one of the grandkids for a few years. Annie Mae loved her family very much. "Be encouraging, uplifting, funny, celebratory, filled with wisdom or scripture, and sometimes reminders about appropriate choices…or not! If you know, you know." Read many of her cards. Many years later, she said Billy was the love of her life. Annie Mae, also known as Mother, Grannie, Aunt Maze, Sister, cousin, and friend, is preceded in death by her youngest son, Tony; her mother, Mary Bentley; her sister Myrtle Olbryc; brother-in-law, Johnny Olbrych; a nephew, Mitchel Sunday; two great nieces; and Billy Sunday. She is survived by her son, Keith, and his wife Montie; grandsons, Tony and wife Kim, Troy and wife Robin, Todd and wife Heather; grandchildren Gaven and his wife Hailie, Caleb, Addison, Carter, Charlee, Tarrant, Tennyson, Talon, Aubryn, and Travis. Also by brother, W.J. Sunday and his wife Jane of Decker Prairie; nieces, Terri Olbrych, Robin Sunday, Rachel Nicole and husband Greg; and nephews Gary Olbrych and wife Maria, and Edmond Sunday. She instilled in us a love for God and belief in Jesus. She taught us that the Holy Spirit would guide us if we would be still and listen. She will be greatly missed.
