Antawin "Twan" Benito Lyons, 49, passed away August 14th, 2025, in Topeka. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on May 3rd, 1976, to Georgia "Cookie" Lyons and Roberto Soto Sr.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Willie L. Lyons Sr. and Charles Peak, aunties, cousins, great-grandparents, God-brother and god-sister.
Antawin loved fishing, hunting, sports, music, and all types of outdoors activities. He loved sitting around entertaining people. Antawin left us for 30 years to the system of Kansas. While he was gone, he earned his associate degree from Johnson County Community College, received his certificate in small business management, earned his motorcycle technician certificate from Penn Foster and was working on his license to be barber. He worked several construction jobs.
Antawin gave his life to Christ and he loved coming home on Sundays for dinner.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Georgia "Cookie" Lyons, Kansas City, KS; his daughter, Mashayla Ray Lyons, Kansas City, Missouri; grandmother, Annie L. Peak; brothers; Leo Lyons, New York, NY, Roberto Soto Jr., Wichita, KS, Adam Lyons and Robert Washington, both of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Chancie Baylor and Jazzmine Lyons, both of Kansas City, MO, Amberia Lyons and Angel Lyons, both of Kansas City, KS; uncle, Willie Lyons Jr., Topeka, KS; aunties, Janice Lyons, Jannette Lyons, Iva "Nicey" Lyons and Lisa Baird all of Topeka, KS, Mary Harding, Spanaway, WA. He also leaves his extended siblings: Donnie, Michael, Denk, Tiana, Eutocia, Travis and Boo; his godfathers, Louis Sirls and Aldo Grant; a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
