Anthony Carmello Buono was born October 7, 1931 and died August 30,2025.

His parents Angela and Antonio Buono were native Italians. One of three boys, he grew up in the Great Depression in Staten Island, New York. After, high school he voluntarily joined the United States Air Force where he served for four years from 1951-1955 during the Korean War.

While in the Air Force, where he served as a radio operator in South Korea. he received a Korean Service medal, a United Nations Service medal, a National Defense Service, medal and an RCK Pres Unit Citation good conduct medal.

He was honorably discharged from the USAF and joined his brother Albert in business where they opened and operated a Gulf service station at the entrance to the Staten Island Ferry.

He met and fell in love with Madeline Ignozza and they were married on May 24,1959. They had two children, Mark and Beth Buono.

Mark Buono was married to Rebecca Buono in 1986. They have three grown children Nicholas Buono, Gianna Buono and Olivia Buono. Nicholas is married to Elisabeth.

Beth Aprea, their daughter Beth has four grown children Patrick Aprea, Christian Aprea, Angela Aprea and Benjamin Aprea. Christian is married to Elania and they are expecting their first child in December.

Anthony was a dedicated father and husband and always worked hard. He had a strong belief in "always doing the right thing." His love for woodworking and building Furniture will always be with us in the beautiful pieces that he so carefully designed and created.

Madeline and Anthony enjoyed almost 25 years of retirement playing golf and tennis in Tom's River , New Jersey.

They subsequently move to Indiana to be with family and obtain support as Anthonys mental health status began to decline in 2015 .

Despite 20 years of progressive dementia, his morals and love were strongly instilled in his children, grandchildren and his dedicated wife.

Anthony was preceded in death by his grandson Benjamin Aprea, his brothers Alfonzo and Albert and his mother Angela and father Antonio.
