Anthony Peter DiMeglio

Anthony Peter DiMeglio, 80, of Norwalk, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, surrounded by love. Born in Brooklyn, New York on November 26, 1944, Anthony was a proud Navy veteran, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a cherished friend to many. A graduate of Norwalk High School, Anthony went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy. While stationed in Naples, Italy, he met the love of his life, Liana. Affectionately known to her as "Ciu Ciu," their whirlwind romance quickly became a lifelong partnership. They would have celebrated 55 beautiful years of marriage on July 25-a love story built on laughter, loyalty, and unwavering devotion. After returning home, Anthony built a successful HVAC business, which he owned and operated for 25 years. Later, he and Liana opened Liana's Trattoria in Fairfield, a warm and welcoming restaurant where they poured their hearts into every dish and every guest. For 22 years, it became a true extension of their home-filled with good food, good company, and countless memories. Anthony was the kind of man who could fix anything-and often did. He was generous with his time, always ready to lend a hand or offer a solution. He had a quiet, steady presence that brought comfort and calm to everyone around him. But more than anything, Anthony was a family man. He took immense pride in being a husband, a father, and a grandfather, and found his greatest joy in time spent with his loved ones. He also had a deep love for animals and shared his home with many beloved pets over the years, each one treated as part of the family. He is survived by his loving wife, Liana DiMeglio of Norwalk; his daughters Valerie DiMeglio (Kevin) of Norwalk and Stephanie Foote (Jesse) of Fairfield; and his adored grandchildren Sydney, Luke, Lila, and Jenna Foote of Fairfield. He also leaves behind his sister Louise Buono and her husband Frank of Norwalk, along with extended family, lifelong friends, and a community that will miss him dearly. Calling hours will be held at Collins Funeral Home on Saturday, July 19, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, with a prayer service at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 21, at 10:00 am at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk.
