It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Anthony Joseph Duran, fondly known as "Red," on April 6, 2025 following a long valiant battle with cancer. Born on June 29, 1983, in
Ogden, Utah, Anthony's life was marked by an ambitious spirit, a compassionate heart, and a loving demeanor. He spent his 41 years creating a life full of humor, positivity, and dedication to his family.
Anthony was a humble man with a heart full of love for his family and friends. His family, especially his three children, Marsallis, Cessions, Angelina, his mother, Dianna Maestas, his father, Anthony "Tony" Duran, brother, Roberto Duran, Sister Alexis Duran, Sister Stephanie Euresti, Joann, who was like a sister, many uncles and aunts, and his grandmother, Marylou, were his world. He also held a special place in his heart for his many nieces, nephews and cousins. No matter where his truck-driving job took him, whether it was his birthplace of Ogden, the bright lights of Las Vegas or the sunny skies of Buena Park, California, where he resided for the last seven years, Anthony always stayed connected with his loved ones. He was preceded in death by gramma Ruby Gallegos and gramma Carol Quintana, uncle, Lester Valencia and Joshua Crookston.
With a love for the open road, Anthony spent many years as a truck driver, visiting state after state, which he cherished. This fueled his adventurous spirit and complemented his affinity for the gym, swimming, and even a bit of gambling. His dog, Peaches, a loyal companion was often by his side during his travels. His love for his family, his job, and his hobbies showcased his unique qualities and accomplishments.
Anthony's laughter and positive attitude were infectious, lighting up any room he walked into. He had a knack for making people smile, and his presence will be sorely missed. A viewing will be held for Anthony on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9-10:30 am at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. in Ogden followed by a celebration of Anthony's life at 11a.m. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 N. Monroe Blvd.
