Anthony Fowler, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 14, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on October 25, 1957, in Weehawken, New Jersey, Anthony embodied the spirit of a true gentle giant. He spent his career with pride at the Bergen County Sheriff's Department in Hackensack, where he served the community he loved.
A proud veteran, Anthony selflessly dedicated his life to serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. This commitment to duty was only matched by his steadfast loyalty to his family and friends. He was a man of a good heart, known for the warmth he extended to those he welcomed into his life. To know him was to have a friend for life, a testament to his loving nature that left a mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
In addition to his law enforcement career, Anthony had a zest for life reflected in his passions. He found joy in riding motorcycles and cherished being an active member of the Blue Knights Chapter 17, where camaraderie and brotherhood thrived. His adventurous spirit and love for the open road created many unforgettable memories for him, and his tales of the ride will live on in the hearts of his fellow bikers.
Anthony's family was his greatest treasure. He is survived by his beloved wife Cheryl, with whom he shared 20 cherished years of love and partnership. His legacy continues through his son, Anthony Fowler Jr., and his daughter, Mariaelena Acosta. Anthony also had a special bond with his "favorite niece," Celine O'Shea, who held a dear place in his heart. Lastly, he leaves behind his beloved companion, Lucky, who was a constant source of comfort and love.
As we remember Anthony Fowler, we celebrate a life dedicated to service, family, and friendship. His genuine kindness and unwavering support for those he loved will forever remain etched in our hearts. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for the remarkable man he was. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
