Anthony "Poppy" Francese, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and soon-to-be great-grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 10, 2024, at the age of 83 in Brick, New Jersey. Born to the world on December 2, 1941, in Newark, New Jersey, Anthony's gentle soul and kindhearted presence brought joy, laughter, and comfort to all who knew him throughout his remarkable life.
A proud graduate of Newark Tech, Anthony's work ethic and dedication to excellence were evident early on. He carried these traits throughout his life, serving as an inspiring example to his children and grandchildren. Anthony married the love of his life, Dolores, and together they built a beautiful family, rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Anthony is survived by his devoted wife, Dolores Francese; his sons, Anthony Francese and his wife Lisa, and Dominick Francese with his wife Alexis. He was a proud grandfather to Nicholas Francese and his wife Jessica, Alex Francese and his fiancée Amber, and to Finley and Bradley Francese. The joy of a great-grandchild was on the horizon, with baby Francese expected to Nicholas and Jessica, a continuation of the loving legacy Anthony cherished so deeply.
Known affectionately as Poppy, Anthony's greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren. His eyes would light up with each visit, each shared story, and every shared moment of laughter. The love he had for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and it will continue to be felt in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Anthony's passion for slot car racing was more than just a hobby; it was a world where he found camaraderie, excitement, and the thrill of competition. His gentle nature was balanced by his competitive spirit, which he also exhibited during family game nights, much to the amusement and delight of his children and grandchildren.
Vacationing with Dolores was another of Anthony's favorite pastimes, as he relished the opportunity to explore new places and create lasting memories with his family. His love for adventure and new experiences was infectious, and those shared journeys will forever be cherished memories.
Anthony's unique demeanor was a testament to his character. He moved through life with a quiet strength and a comforting presence that made him a pillar in his community and family. His warm smile and genuine kindness will be remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As we say goodbye to Anthony "Poppy" Francese, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the love he shared, the family he adored, and the lives he touched with his gentle spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will be treasured forever.
In honoring Anthony's life, we are reminded of the immeasurable impact one person can have simply by being kind, loving, and present. His story does not end here, for his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in the days to come. We find solace in our memories, and in the knowledge that Anthony lived a life full of love, joy, and cherished moments.
Rest in peace, dear Poppy. Your love will always be our guide, and your memory a beacon of the gentle kindness that you embodied.
