Anthony W. Locricchio, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed into eternal life on Thursday March 7, 2024, at the age of 96. Anthony, known affectionately as Tony, was born on June 28, 1927 to Vito "Bill" and Grace Locricchio. Tony dedicated his life to hard work, family, faith and community.
In his youth, Tony worked with his father delivering produce, learning the values of diligence and perseverance that would shape his character. He graduated from De La Salle high school in 1946 and served in the U.S. Army stationed in Japan.
He met the love of his life, Peggy, on a blind date and they were married on May 9, 1953. Together they started their family in St. Clair Shores and were blessed with 5 children.
Tony worked in the insurance industry for a few years before entering into the restaurant business. Tony and Peggy opened the the Nugget restaurant in Clawson in 1968 which was later rebranded as Sir Anthony's. They poured their hearts into their business creating cherished memories for patrons while forging lasting friendships within the community for 16 years before he retired.
Tony's dedication extended beyond his professional endeavors; he found true joy in his roles as a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His love knew no bounds as he embraced his role as a grandfather to 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the master of the sweet sneak, making every visit with the grand kids a little sweeter with hidden treats. Family dinners and holidays were always a highlight for him.
Another passion of Tony's was his dedication to his Catholic faith. He and Peggy attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores and later joined St. Irenaeus parish in Rochester Hills after they moved to Troy. Following his retirement, he dedicated his time to The Men of the Scared Heart for over 25 years and continued to say the rosary everyday of his life.
After Peggy's passing, Tony moved to Waltonwood Independent Living, where he became a cherished member of the community, touching the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, wit and kind smile. He could always be found playing bingo, penny poker or attending one of the musical events.
Beloved husband of the late Pulcheria "Peggy" for 67 years. Loving father of Bill (Maryann), Louis (Elizabeth), Anthony (Barb), Grace Ann (Dan) Steele and the late Johnny. Caring grandfather of Katie (Mason) Bosch, Christina (Victor) Calugar, Sophia, Joseph, Michael, Jeffrey, Anthony, Jenna, Andrew, and Alyssa. Dear great grandfather of Lochlan, Lonnie, and Fiona. Cherished brother of Sandra Madonia (the late Frank), Jo Ann Impastato (the late Fred), the late Matthew Locricchio (the late Joanne), and the late Leo Locricchio (Sharon).
