ANTHONY A. MARTONE
"Loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather"
Anthony A. "Butch" Martone, age 85, of Waterbury passed away peacefully April 17, 2024 at John Dempsey Hospital UCONN Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Lorna (Forino) Martone.
Butch was born April 10, 1939 in Waterbury, a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Caputo) Martone. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. Butch proudly served his country in the National Guard and the United States Marine Corps. Prior to his retirement, Butch worked as a drug and alcohol counselor for the City of Waterbury Welfare Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and playing set back at both the Wolcott and Waterbury Senior Centers, seven card poker, trips to the casino and seafood. He was a friend of Bill W.
Besides his wife of 46 years also of Waterbury he leaves a daughter Laura Romaniello and her husband Mike, his sons Jeff and Stephen Martone, a stepson Rocco Forino, a step sister Jan Burkhart, a brother in law Philip Forino and his wife Cheryl, Sandy Beyer and her husband Robert, Kathy Christiano and her husband James, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his niece Jodi Bastenbeck and her husband Lester and nephew Joe Mendello and his wife Jen as well as great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Patti Lasky.
Arrangements: Funeral Tuesday April 23 at 11 AM directly at Our Lady of Lourde's Church. Military honors will be bestowed immediately following mass. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway is assisting his family with arrangements.
