Anthony Hugh Pepitone of Southampton, New York, a vibrant soul and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on January 31st, 2024, in Davis, California. He was 60 years old.
Born in Brookhaven Hospital to Salvatore and Mary Pepitone, Tony brought joy to a bustling family of five siblings – Annamaria, Salvatore, Antoinette, Angelo, and John. He graduated from Centereach High School in 1981 where his life intertwined with his young love, Dawn. They married in 1990 and welcomed two beautiful daughters, Carrissa Dawn and Emily Rose, before navigating separate paths in 1998.
In 1999, fate intervened at King Kullen supermarket. A shared joke and laugh with Sharyn Wilson blossomed into love. They married in 2002 and their family expanded with the arrivals of Jayden Anthony and Mackenzie Shay, completing their circle of happiness.
Predeceased by his parents, Tony's soul now dances with his mother in heaven, serenaded by the song "I'll Always Love My Mama." He leaves behind an enduring legacy of love with his partner of 25 years, Sharyn Wilson-Pepitone, and his four children who cherished him beyond measure – Carrissa, Emily, Jayden, and Mackenzie. His heart found new depths of joy when his first grandchild, Thomas Francis Leahey Jr., arrived, and then soared when Carrissa named her second child Anthony Jaxxon Leahey, carrying his memory forward.
While fatherhood was his defining role, Tony's spirit reached far beyond. He was a force of nature, radiating light and infectious laughter, a man of endless optimism for every endeavor. Ball games echoed with his booming cheers, music filled his soul, and he unearthed treasures in hidden corners, an estate sale aficionado. His nieces, nephews, godchildren, and siblings all felt his boundless love, he was The Heartbeat of the Family. A master of humor, storytelling, and dance, he left an unforgettable mark on everyone he met.
Though gone too soon, Anthony's memory will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew him. His boisterous laughter, unwavering love, and zest for life will continue to inspire his family and everyone whose paths he crossed.
