After working for the Telephone Company and graduating from the College of Staten Island he became an NYC Firefighter, a career he loved. He served in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Staten Island. He retired from Ladder 80 following an injury he suffered in Sam's Taxi fire on New Years Eve 1991. He was awarded 3 FDNY medals of valor over his 20 year career.

He loved boxing, racing, the New York Yankees and Giants. He had a love of classic cars but especially Corvettes, which he was finally able to own in his retirement.

He was a hero wiithout an ego. Strong, brave, funny, smart, and a humble man with a big heart. A devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a loyal friend who served his community. A good person, a life well lived. Ton will be truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tony was a standup guy who was 100% gentleman at all times. A quiet leader who led by example and served as an inspiration to other firefighters. I remember him on the day of the Sam´s Taxi fire where he and his team took some beating from that fire. Almost lost the entire company that day but by the grace of God all were saved.
Rest In Peace Brother.

I had the pleasure of living across the street from Tony on Pelton Ave on Staten Island many years ago. He was a great guy, great neighbor with an equally lovely wife and 2 great kids. Tony was one of the most decent, admirable men I ever knew. My condolences to Danice, Anthony and Jackie. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace, Tony
