He is preceded in death by his siblings Filiberto Serna, Rodolfo Serna, Homero Serna, Gloria Serna, his parents Guadalupe Garcia, Apolonio Serna Sr. his late wife, Herminia Serna. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Violeta Cornejo Serna, his siblings Jose Serna, Hector Serna, Amanda Torres, his Stepchildren Paul James Gacis, Jefferson Gacis, Janice Barreda, Jesel Whiteside, Jelly Manuel, Judit Blucker, his nieces and nephews Ilsa Torres, Carla M. Torres, Bobby J. Torres, Roxanne Torres, Kathy Serna, Joey Serna, Robert Serna, Stephen Serna, Joshua Serna, Eric Serna, his cousin Alicia Stubblefield, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Apolonio's legacy will live on through the values he instilled, the stories he told, and the love he gave so freely.
A visitation and service to honor his life will be held at 5033 Rouse Dr. Virginia Beach VA 23462, Altmeyer Funeral Homes - Southside Chapel on Saturday, April 19, 2025. Burial will follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
