Ardrick Hammon Obituary

He was proud of his military service in the US Marines and shared many heroic stories with family and friends. He served as Presidential Honor Guard in Washington, DC. During the Korean War, he rejoined the Artillery Unit as Radio Man and Wire Chief as part of the Forward Observer Team. His action in the Chosen Reservoir was documented in the book "Breakout" and Time Magazine. Upon returning to the US he served in the Armed Services Police Detachment in Washington, DC as staff NCO.
He had a long career in engineering at McDonnel Douglas and Boeing. He was also an assistant professor at Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, IL. After retirement he worked as an election judge for sixteen years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of seventy-two years, and son. He is survived by two daughters, daughter-in-law, two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
He will be missed by all.
Burial of his cremated remains will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
