Arlene Lora Blevins, 74, of Piney View, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, in the Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, following a short illness.
Born October 9, 1950, at Grassy Meadows, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Kate Forren.
Arlene was a graduate of Meadow Bridge High School. She retired as the secretary for the Loyal Order of Moose #1606, Beckley. Arlene enjoyed crafting, especially with her granddaughter, Erica. Arlene was a dedicated member of the Women of The Moose and Beckley Moose Lodge 1606. She received many degrees within the organization, including the highest rank; College of Regents. She also received degrees as Star Recorder, Academy of Friendship and Co-worker. She also served as Past Deputy and State Officer for The Women of The Moose. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Ron Blevins, Sr., just ten months ago and her sister-in-law Ellen Forren.
Survivors include her son Ron Blevins, Jr. (Heather) of Piney View; her daughter Stephanie Collins (Leroy) of Piney View; four brothers Sam Forren of Meadow Bridge, Duke Forren (Diana) of Crickmer, Roger Forren (Mary Jane) of Meadow Bridge, Steven (Lisa) of Meadow Bridge, two Grandsons Ronnie Blevins of Beckley, and Matthew Blevins of Stanaford;
one granddaughter Erica Collins of Piney View; and a host of extended family, and friends.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, at Smathers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Thomas Bruce officiating.
Burial will be in the Patton Memorial Cemetery, Meadow Bridge.
Friends may call one hour before the service from 12 – 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
