Arlene (O'Meara) Follert, 85, of Canton, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025 surrounded by her children. Arlene was born in Hartford and moved to Simsbury as a young child. Arlene attended Mount St. Joseph's Academy in West Hartford. She was employed by Prudential Insurance Company where she met her loving husband Edward V. Follert Sr.. Arlene was the center of her family's celebrations and gatherings. She raised five children and enjoyed cooking and crafting. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Collinsville. She leaves behind her children, Cheryl Deming (James) of Avon, Douglas Follert of Litchfield, Lisa Walzak (Paul) of Canton, and Deborah Follert of Weatogue, her grandchildren; Tracey (Aaron), Kevin (Victoria), Kerri (Charles), Christopher (Brittany), Lilyana, Matthew, Morgan, Samantha (Adam) and Jennifer; great-grandchildren Haley, Hannah, Ella, Jameson, Amelia, Clara, William, Michael; sisters Kathleen McCauley (Michael) of FL, Jacqueline DeGray of Granby, and a brother William O'Meara of Simsbury; sister-in-law Elizabeth Follert; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward V. Follert Sr. and son Edward Follert Jr., parents James and Evelyn (Davies) O'Meara, brother James O'Meara. Her family will receive friends Friday, November 21, 2025, from 6-8 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A private burial will be at West Avon Cemetery.
