Armando S. DeLeon, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend was called to his heavenly home on March 2, 2025, at the age of 86 at his home in Mathis, Texas. He was born on January 10, 1939, in Hebbronville, Texas to Andres and Aurora DeLeon. Armando lived a vibrant and fulfilling life devoted to his family and in service to his community, always willing to help whenever he was needed. He was a veteran of the US Army and spent more than 40 years working for Mathis ISD, holding several job titles, while impacting many lives in the process. It has been his family’s honor to share his love, wisdom and generosity with so many.
He is survived by his daughters, Jezelle Isbell and Jeanet (Raul) Garcia; his grandchildren, Gregorio Ozuna III, Myranda (Ryan) Danielson, Reinaldo Ramos III, Ecelia Ramos, Christopher Ramos, Josiah Ayarzagoitia and Magnus Ayarzagoitia; his great-granddaughter Harper Danielson. Additionally, he is survived by his brothers Erasmo (Rosemary) DeLeon Sr., Noe DeLeon Sr. and Baldomero DeLeon; his sister Margarita Dominguez and numerous nephews and nieces.
He is now reunited in heavenly love with his beloved wife and soulmate of 47 years, Martha DeLeon. He is also preceded in death by his parents Andres Sr and Aurora DeLeon; sisters Carmen Ramon and Yolanda DeLeon; and brother Andres DeLeon Jr.
As we remember Armando, let us cherish the memories we hold dear of his unwavering love, his kindness, and compassion to all that knew him. Though his physical presence may no longer be with us, his legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone he touched in his lifetime.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM at Winsteads’ Funeral Home located at 121 N. Duval St., Mathis, TX. Funeral Mass in his honor will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis followed by interment at Cenizo Hill Cemetery.
