It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we commemorate Armando Luna, who peacefully departed from this world on March 18, 2025 at the age of 73. He was born on January 5, 1952 in the humble town of Ralls, Texas. Armando's journey was one that touched many lives with Love, Kindness, and Unwavering dedication.
Armando was a devoted husband to Amelia Esparza Luna who was the love of his life and dearest companion for 53 years. He is survived by his wife Amelia, two daughters, Melanie Gonzales and husband Wally Gonzales of San Antonio. Megan Herrera and husband Richard Herrera of Lubbock. Armando has five grandchildren: Enrique Gonzales, Cruz Gonzales, and Andres Gonzales of San Antonio. Mykala Arguijo and finance Rocky Ramos of Lubbock and Sarah Herrera of Lubbock. He has two great grandchildren: Kamden and Xaine Ramos of Lubbock.
Armando was proceeded in death by his parents,Natividad and Margarita Luna. Sister Celia Palacios and husband Juan Palacios. Sister Estella Dominguez, brother Natividad Luna Jr and niece Joanne Palacios. He is survived by his siblings; sister Sylvia Villa and family from Mercedes, brother Arturo Luna and family from Lubbock, sister Rita Peredia and family from Lubbock, Arnulfo Luna of Ralls, and Zoila Casarez and family from La Vernia.
Armando was an auto mechanic for 52 years. He began his career at Ford Cooper, Logan Buick, and Abell Chevrolet in Ralls. He then worked for Chuck Nash Chevrolet in San Marcos. In 1992, he opened his own business; Circle M Automotive and succeeded for 31 years.
Armando was a devoted spiritual Catholic parishioner and was active at St. Michael's Catholic Church for 50 years. He served many roles at St. Michaels which includedPresident of Parish Council, Head Building Committee, Lector, Member of Men's Club, Leader of the Evangelization Retreats, Leader of Jamaica Committee, and played in the Choir.
Armando enjoyed playing softball throughout his entire life. He played third base and made many lifelong friends and even gained the nickname "The Legend". He also enjoyed playing guitar, base guitar and trumpet in professional Tejano bands. He started his own Tejano band at a very young age call the Moonlighters. He then when on to play with Los Jovenes and Arena for many years.
He was loved by so many and the memories will be cherished forever.
The Rosary will be held at St. Philip Benizi in Idalou, Texas on April 25, 2025 at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Philip Benizi, in Idalou, Texas on April 26, 2025at 10:00 am. Burial will be held at Ralls Cemetery following the service.
