Armilda Gayle Dayley

Armilda Gayle "Punky" Dayley was born on May 8th, 1947 in Tillamook, Or to Elza and Lydia Mercer. She grew up around the Central Oregon area attending Detroit High School. In 1975 she married Charles Dayley and started their family together.

Punky was a successful bar and restaurant owner most of her adult life. She owned Sourdoug Lil's and Fisherman's Inn in Washington, and managed the Marion Forks Restaurant for 24 years. In her later years, she was the lead cook at Dallas Retirement Village.

Punky was smart, funny, and stubborn. She was one of the most generous people, donating time, and whatever was needed to those she loved. She had tremendous strength, and would find a way to solve the hardest situations. When she was there for someone, it was with 100% effort and love. No job was too small, and no task impossible. Helping others made her happy.

Punky would want to be remembered for her generosity and sass. Her personal strength and courage were unmatched, although she would hardly take credit for it. Those who knew her best absolutely understand and would agree that she was a diamond, completely selfless, and absolutely loved.

Punky is survived by Sharon Jeffers - Daughter (Killeen, Texas), Jason Taylor - Grandson, Jennifer (Bickford) Hartwell - Granddaughter, Kimberly (Bickford) Willis - Granddaughter, Dylan Jeffers - Grandson, Kendall Jeffers - Granddaughter, several great Grandchildren.

She is Preceded in death by her parents, Son Robert (Datz) Dayley, and Daughter Tracy (Taylor) Bickford.

Graveside Service is 01/03/2025 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Salem, Oregon. Celebration of Life coming this summer!
