Arnett Clinton Powers, III, affectionately known by all as "Rusty", was called home to the
Lord on June 17, 2023.
Rusty was born in El Paso, Texas on March 18, 1962 to Arnett Clinton Powers Jr. and Patricia
Joy Brockus Powers while his father was stationed at Fort Bliss Army Base. During his
childhood, Rusty lived in El Paso, Texas, Anchorage, Alaska, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Bel Air,
Maryland.
As a youth he lived in Corpus Christi, Texas where he graduated from Calallen High School,
and was the quarterback on the Varsity football team. He went on to graduate from Texas
A&M Corpus Christi with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. While living in Corpus, he began
his career as a life insurance agent, was married, and blessed with the birth of his daughter
Raina. He relocated to Maryland and managed a storage facility and U-Haul dealership for
10 years in Aberdeen.
Later in life Rusty settled permanently back in Texas where he went back into the insurance
business as a health insurance agent in San Antonio. He often said how much he really liked
to be able to help people and he found this work fulfilling.
Rusty loved sports, music, comedy, and movies. He knew Jesus as his Savior and found
great comfort through his faith.
