Arnold “Arnie” Lumley

Arnold Lee "Arnie" Lumley, 88, of Tippecanoe County, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.

He was born January 21, 1937, in Lafayette, IN, to the late Earl and Mildred (Honn) Lumley.

Arnie graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1955.

On July 1, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Williamson in Brookston, IN and she survives.

Arnie worked on the family farm at an early age and continued farming throughout his life. He also owned Lumley Truck Service, and had worked at the Purdue Physical Plant, Halsteads International, National Homes, Amoco oil as a diesel mechanic, and retired from United Feeds.

He enjoyed camping and the camping club, auto racing, tractors, and mechanics.

Surviving with his wife, Marilyn Sue Lumley is a daughter, Debra (Ron) Bearden of Lafayette, three sons, Charles (Diana Batz) Lumley of Avon, Brad (Diane) Lumley of Lafayette and Jeff (Karen Stewart) Lumley of Brookston. Two brothers, Howard (Darlene) Lumley of Lafayette and Cecil (Ruth) Lumley of Morrow, OH and a sister, Mary Ruth (Jim) Bays of Morrow, OH. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.

Arnie was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Lumley, a sister, Lucille Mouson, a brother, George Lumley and a son-in-law, Michael Landis.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Lafayette, with Jeff Keller officiating. Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, IN.
