Skippy was born in Birmingham, AL on February 11, 1947, to Curtis and Barbara Files. Skippy retired as a Nurses Aide with the State of Ohio. She departed this life on August 30, 2024 after a courageous 15-year battle with cancer.
Skippy is preceded in death by her parents; Curtis and Barbara Files, her sisters; Shirley Dockery and Ivylee Martin, and her grandson Queshawn Whit.
She is survived by her children; Markie (Heather) Simmons and Carla Boone. Sisters; Theodoris Files. Her legacy will flourish through her 8 grandchildren.
A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins of the Walters, Files, Stokes, Valentine’s, Dockery’s, Henton’s and Reeves.
There will be a public visitation held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Families First Cremation and Funeral at Edwards, 1166 Parsons Ave, Columbus, OH 43206 starting at 9am with a chapel service to begin at 11am.
