With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Arthur Anthony Chiusano on July 13, 2024, at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, NJ. Born on May 10, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York, Arthur's life was a testament to love, dedication, and compassion.
Raised in Brooklyn, Arthur was the cherished son of Angelo A. and Lucy Chiusano. He graduated from James Madison High School and married soon after, raising his beloved daughters, Lucille and Cassandra, in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Arthur's career as a Master Plumber spanned over 40 years, during which he earned the respect and admiration of co-workers, forming lifelong friendships with Pauly, Frankie, Randy, Elvis, and Petal. In retirement, he devoted himself to his greatest passions: family, friends, and faith.
Arthur was an avid outdoorsman who found profound joy in nature. He loved camping, fishing, and especially taking long rides on his Harley Davidson, savoring the freedom of the open road. He also took pride in working on his house. His interests included watching old western movies, being a fervent Star Trek fan, and collecting vintage train sets, particularly steam engines. His fascination with railroads reflected his appreciation for history and craftsmanship, often taking nostalgic trips on historic steam engines.
Arthur will be remembered as a devoted and loving father, always proud of his daughters and their achievements. He treasured his role as a grandfather, finding immense joy in the company of his grandson, Kevin. His family was his pride and joy, and he enveloped them with his caring and compassionate nature.
A devout Catholic, Arthur was a faithful servant of God, attending mass and confession weekly. He lived by the word of God, embodying qualities of comfort and compassion in every aspect of his life. He was a generous supporter of children's charities, always extending a helping hand to those in need. His comforting presence provided solace to many, and his unwavering faith was a cornerstone of his character.
Arthur's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. His departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Arthur was predeceased by his beloved parents, Angelo A. and Lucy. He is survived by his cherished daughters, Lucille Chiusano and Cassandra MacLane, and her partner Jim Severino; his adoring grandson, Kevin MacLane; his loving sister, Angela F. Martucci; and his caring nephews and niece, Danny, Lucie, Peter, and Andrew. He also leaves behind his grand-nieces and nephews, Donald, Victoria, Peter Jr. (P.J.), Paul, and Andrew.
Arthur's departure leaves a legacy that will continue to resonate through the lives of those he loved and those who loved him.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 22, 2024, and Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 9:30 am at St. Thomas Church, located at 333 NJ-18, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
