Arthur James Collins, Jr., 69, a beloved member of the Okolona community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Born on April 8, 1956, in Okolona, Chickasaw County, MS, Arthur lived a life that was a testament to love, family, and resilience.
Arthur, also affectionately known as "Rudy", was known for his strong bonds with his family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and support. He is survived by his brothers, David Lee Collins, Wendolyn Collins, Lester Gates, and Bobby Joe Garth, along with his sisters, Arlene Collins, Lois Collins, Gwen Collins, Bertha Collins, Twanna Collins, Lois McIntosh, Mary Gates, Gene Gates, Gail Gates, Debra Garth, and Ann Garth. Each of them held a special place in his heart and contributed richly to his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Collins, Sr., and his mother, Mae Francis Hampton. Additionally, he mourned the loss of his brothers, Tommie Collins, Timothy Collins, and Earl Gates, who left indelible marks on his life.
In honor of Arthur's memory, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Clark Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Okolona. Family, friends, and all who were touched by his warmth and spirit are invited to gather beginning at 2:00 PM. This gathering will serve as a heartfelt tribute to a man who lived with honor and dignity, surrounded by those he cherished.
Arthur James Collins, Jr. will be remembered not only for his contributions to his family but also for the love he shared with everyone who had the privilege to know him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of many.
