In Loving Memory of Art (Arthur Joseph) Danko
January 14, 1927 – June 8, 2025
Art Danko, beloved by his dear family and friends, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at the age of 98.
Born in Chicago, Art lived a life marked by creativity, kindness, and deep devotion to his loved ones. He was well known for his ever-present smile and positive spirit, traits that endeared him to all who knew him.
A man of remarkable talent, Art was a designer and engineer who held multiple patents. Among them was an important innovation in fire equipment safety signaling that made a lasting contribution to public safety. His lifelong curiosity and problem-solving nature left an indelible mark on both his professional field and his personal relationships. Art was always ready to lend a hand or a thoughtful, listening ear.
Above all, Art treasured his family. He was the devoted husband of his beloved Marianne, with whom he shared 60 joyful years of marriage until her passing. He was a loving and supportive father to Maribeth and Karen (McClatchy), and to his son-in-law John. His granddaughters, Julianne and Kristen McClatchy, brought him immense pride and joy, and he held a special place in his heart for his dear nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law.
Art's life was defined by love, ingenuity, and kindness. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral Mass Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at St. James at Sag Bridge Catholic Church, 10600 S. Archer Avenue, Lemont, Illinois 60439.
