Arthur Louis DelGreco passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, in Howell, MI, at the age of 82. Born on August 19, 1942, in Detroit, MI, Arthur grew up with a spirit of generosity and a quick wit that would define his character throughout his life. Arthur graduated from Fordson High School with the class of 1962. He married his love, Kathleen Ann Zupko on September 8, 1967 in Detroit, MI.
Arthur worked for Ford Motor Company for 37 years before retiring. After, he found his calling in service to others, dedicating countless hours to the Parent Teacher Mentoring Board and other organizations dedicated to helping students and children. His passion for the well-being of children was evident to all who knew him. Arthur's commitment to his community was further exemplified by his volunteer work at Howell High School. He loved mentoring kids, offering them guidance, a listening ear, and often a dose of his trademark humor. His presence was a staple at school events, especially hockey, and his contributions to the lives of young people were immeasurable.
Beyond his community work, Arthur found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He relished the time spent cutting his grass, a task he approached with the same dedication and care as his volunteer efforts. His playful nature shone through in his interactions, often punctuated by his catchphrase, "got two words for you and it's not goodbye," leaving friends and family with a chuckle and a smile.
Arthur's sense of humor was only matched by his capacity to love. Described by those who knew him best as loving and funny, he had a unique ability to light up a room and make every individual feel valued. His laughter, jokes, and heartfelt conversations will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Kathy DelGreco; children, Wendy (Robert) Toth and Nancy (Earskin) Presley; and grandchildren, Clayton, Blake, Nicholas, Sydney, and Brendan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Angelo DelGreco and Anna (Laposso) DelGreco and brother, Anthony DelGreco.
A visitation for Arthur will be held 3-7PM Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, MacDonald Chapel, 315 N. Michigan Ave, Howell. A Celebration of Life will be held 12PM Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the funeral home, with visitation an hour prior.
The world has lost a truly remarkable man in Arthur Louis DelGreco. His spirit, however, will continue to inspire those he touched through his acts of kindness, his enduring love for his family, and his unwavering commitment to the youth of his community. Arthur's legacy is one of laughter, love, and the power of mentoring the next generation. He leaves behind a world better for his presence, and memories that will be treasured forever.
