Dr. Arthur Boston Floyd "Doc", age 78, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Born on November 13, 1946, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Arthur lived a life marked by intellectual pursuit, personal resilience, and an unwavering commitment to authenticity.Arthur's academic journey was a testament to his insatiable thirst for knowledge. He earned a Doctorate and a Master of Business Administration in addition to his bachelor's degree-an impressive academic portfolio that reflected his deep belief in the power of education. He was known among those who knew him as highly intelligent and always striving for greater understanding. His philosophical beliefs guided his path through life, and he often shared his favorite quote: "TO KNOW THYSELF IS TO BE TRUE TO THYSELF." These words were not merely spoken but lived-Arthur embodied them with every step he took.A proud veteran, Arthur served on the front lines during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. His service was marked by courage and dedication during one of the most challenging periods in American military history.Arthur had a unique sense of humor and perspective on life. Among his many ambitions was to write a book titled *How to Be a Successful Looser!*-a title that captured both his wit and his ability to find meaning even in adversity. He approached life with humility and humor, never afraid to challenge convention or embrace irony.His interests were as diverse as they were passionate. Arthur found joy in chess, stargazing, astronomy, reading, podcasting, computer technology, and running. Whether contemplating the cosmos or engaging in thoughtful conversation through podcasts or books, he remained ever-curious about the world around him.Arthur was deeply loved by family and friends alike. He is survived by his sister Dorthea A. Johnson and brother Gary Lamont Floyd and his son Mathew Todd Wrightstone. Arthur also leaves behind four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara L. Johnson; father Boston Floyd; sisters Anita L. Jackson, Donna M. Johnson, Sharon D. Johnson; and brother Eugene T. Johnson.Arthur's legacy is one of authenticity and self-awareness-a man who lived life fully and fearlessly true to himself.
