Arthur James Trammel, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 5, 2025, at his home in
McHenry, IL, at the age of 82. Born on February 1, 1943, in
Chicago, IL, Arthur's life was a testament to his loving nature, his passion for his family, and his selfless dedication to others.
Arthur's storied life began in the heart of Chicago, where he was born to parents Louis and Malathia Trammell. He was the cherished brother to Clarice Moran, Penelope Johnson, and Joanne Kirton. Arthur's early years were filled with the hustle and bustle of city life and contrasted with his years spent on a Maryland farm, which laid the foundation for his strong work ethic and resilient spirit. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, a period during which he honed the discipline and commitment that would define his character.
It was after his service that Arthur met the love of his life, Patricia Zielinski. Their hearts intertwined, and they were united in marriage on July 3, 1971. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and companionship that lasted 54 wonderful years. Patricia was his rock, his confidante, and his joy. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Sheryl Trammel-Molter of McHenry and Christine Trammel-Miller of Oakwood Hills, as well as a bonus son, Richard Miller, also of Oakwood Hills.
Arthur's love for his family was immeasurable, and nothing brought him more happiness than being a grandfather. He adored his grandchildren, Aspen, Aiden, and Kaleb Miller, and cherished every moment spent with them. His legacy of love and wisdom will undoubtedly live on through them.
Professionally, Arthur dedicated over 35 years to Motorola, where his diligence and expertise were greatly valued. His commitment to his work was paralleled only by his involvement in various associations, where he was respected for his insights and camaraderie.
Despite his achievements, Arthur remained humble and always valued the simple things in life. He built his legacy from the ground up, taking pride in the fact that everything he accomplished was through hard work and determination. His life was a beautiful illustration of what it means to be loving, passionate, and selfless.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Malathia Trammell, and his parents-in-law, Norbert and Sheryl Zielinski; brother, Louis Trammell. He leaves behind a family that will forever honor his memory and a community that was made better by his presence.
As we bid farewell to Arthur James Trammel, we celebrate the life of a man whose impact was as profound as the love he shared. He will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Rest in peace, dear Arthur, until we meet again.
