Arthur Zagorski Obituary

Arthur was born on December 22, 1955, in Milwaukee to John and Anna (Schlegel) Zagorski. He was baptized on February 6, 1956, at Hales Corners Lutheran Church. Arthur attended Irving School in their Special Education class. After Irving School, Arthur was a participant in the Goodwill Special Needs program until February 2020.
Arthur is survived by sisters: Marge (Larry) McFarlane, Barbara (Bob) Christian and Debi (Dave) Biermann; niece: Marie (James Overy) McFarlane, nephews: Josh (Jenna), Elias (Kim) and Seth (Jen) Biermann; great-nieces: Talyn, Tegan, Tessa (Ethan), Tadym McFarlane, Elaine and Scottie Jo Biermann; great-nephews: Taryn McFarlane and Elisha Biermann; great-great-niece: Emmelyn Rose McFarlane, as well as other family and friends.
Thank you to all of his caregivers, especially Leonid (Tetyana, dec'd) Bilyashevych, Coletta Sanders and her staff at A Dream Come True Adult Family Home.
A memorial service will be held on May 29, 2025, at 11:00 am at Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9741 W. Beloit Rd, Milwaukee with Pastor Barry Akers officiating.
Following a luncheon at the church, there will be a private interment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Greenfield.
Relatives and friends may gather at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Hartson Funeral Home of Hales Corners is serving the family.

For many years, Arthur was a staple at ARCh social dances and Camp Pow Wow. His ever-smiling face and cheerful attitude made him a favorite of staff and clients alike! Even in the rare instances where he was inadvertently treated with less sensitivity than he deserved, he showed unfailing grace, composure, and easy acceptance of everyone around him. His warmth and openness helped everyone around him to be better people. We miss him and send our deepest condolences to his family, stalwart caregivers, and friends. From the staff and board of the Association for the Rights of Citizens with handicaps.
