Arvilla R. Lukassen

Arvilla Lukassen, born in 1928 to Joseph and Rena (Shuler) McBeth in Orion, KS, passed away December 19, 2022, just short of her 95th birthday. She was a strong woman who lived through the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and World War II. She moved with her family from Kansas to Canon City, CO while still a teenager, and graduated from Canon City High School. She married Robert Miller in 1946 and together they owned the Rainbow Park Dairy in Florence until his death in 1981. She married Dale Lukassen in 1986 and they ranched in Boone, later moving to Pueblo West. At the age of 87, she had a new home built in Pueblo of which she was very proud.
Arvilla is survived by her daughters, Rena (Larry) Cornell and Carole (Jim) Tate; grandchildren, Rick (Liz) Hardrick, Brenda (Bert) Tanin, Jeremy (Darcy) Heinrich, Brian (Angie) Henrich, Jeff (Julie) Miller, Becky Nance and Judy (Justin) Barhite; fourteen great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Cindy (John) Ehmke, Connie (John) Palmer, Vaughn (Terri) Lukassen, Curt (Karen) Lukassen, Bart (Sam) Lukassen, Callen and Evan Lukassen; and nephew, Phil (Randi) Booker. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; son, Virgil Miller; granddaughter, Jody Miller; stepsons, Tim and Steve Lukassen; sisters, Margaret Mastellar, Ida Bitner and Beulah Booker; and brothers, Joe, Walt, Jim and Johnny McBeth.
