Warm and Loving -

Ashley Elizabeth Hollis, age 20, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020.  Ashley was born on Friday, October 29, 1999, in Camp Hill to Melissa Ann Hollis.

Ashley's survivors include her mother, Melissa Hollis of Carlisle; her father, Benjamin "Ben" M. Breneman and companion Karen Ditzler of Dillsburg; her three siblings: Abigail "Abby" Breneman, Josh Breneman, Hailee Lucas; her grandparents:  Carol "Memaw" and Richard "Pawpaw" Hollis of Mechanicsburg, Michelle "Meechie" and Grandpa "Skip" Koons of Camp Hill, Ben "Papa Benny" L. Breneman of Harrisburg; her aunt Meredith "Aunt Mer" Harclerode and wife "Aunt Jolee" of Bernville, PA; and her beloved dog, Moka "Momo".

Ashley graduated from Boiling Springs High School as part of the class of 2018 and completed two years at Millersville University studying a dual major in early childhood and special education.  She worked in customer service at Giant Food Stores in Carlisle and Lancaster, and in child care at Bright Beginnings Child Care of Carlisle.  Ashley served as secretary for Millersville University Relay for Life.  She was a natural artist, gifted in painting, sketching, and music; Ashley played the flute in her high school and university marching and concert bands.  She delighted in spending time outdoors, hiking and walking.  Ashley was very good with animals and had a special love of frogs.  There was a special shared energy that was felt by all whenever she entered a room.  With her great sense of humor and warm, loving nature, Ashley's family and friends will hold her and all the treasured memories in their hearts forever.

All are welcome to join Ashley's family at her in-person viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and her virtual gathering of family and friends at 3:00 p.m., with virtual viewing at 3:45 p.m. until time of virtual dismissal at 4:00 p.m. via video chat or telephone, all on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

Family and friends are invited to join Ashley's family for her virtual memorial service via video chat or telephone on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, beginning at approximately 1:30 p.m., with Celebrant George Spangler officiating.  Cremation followed by interment in Mechanicsburg Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.
