Ms. Ashley Andrea Thompkins, 25, of Peoria, IL, gained her beautiful wings at 2:40 pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Ashley was born on December 5, 1999, in Peoria, IL to Donta Thompkins and Andre Bonds, Sr.
Ashley worked for Addus Homecare. She was a 2018 graduate of Richwoods High School, where she played the trombone in the band. Ashley had a beautiful smile, a bold personality and a heart of gold to match. She enjoyed life and was extremely happy to become a first-time mother to her newborn baby boy. Ashley attended Kingdom Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Bishop Embra E. Patterson, Jr.
Ashley leaves to cherish her most precious memory her new born baby boy of Peoria, IL; her mother, Donta (Eric) Thompkins of Peoria, IL; her father, Andre Bonds, Sr. of Chicago, IL; bonus father, Nathan Stroud of Peoria, IL; godmother, Sylvia Balton of St. Louis, MO; five sisters, Arianna Stroud and Rosie Stroud of Peoria, IL, Ariana Bonds, Aaliyah Bonds and Amala Bonds of Chicago, IL; her companion, Jason Owens; her uncle, Charlie Thompkins, Jr. of Peoria, IL, Melvin Hampton, Kendrick Hampton and Jerry Hampton all of Chicago, IL; maternal grandfather, Charlie McCraney, all of Peoria, IL; paternal grandmother, Shirley Hampton of Chicago, IL and a host of relatives and friends who loved and will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her brother, Andre Bonds, Jr.; maternal grandmother, Shirley Thompkins, maternal great grandmother, Elizabeth Smith and her uncle, Jermaine Hampton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Greater City of Refuge Worship Cathedral with a visitation at 10 am. Pastor Spencer Davis of New Tabernacle Baptist Church, Chicago, IL will officiate.
