Audrey Dana Castillo

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away quietly the morning of January 24th 2025 at the age of 96 years. She was born on December 30, 1928 in Stockton, CA to Charles and Sarah Dana. She graduated from Tracy Union High School in 1946 and later served a 2.5 year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand, while her parents also served a building mission in the South Pacific. Audrey met her husband, Hector Manuel Castillo in San Francisco, and they were married in 1960. They moved to Sacramento in 1967, where they raised their family of five children, Julie, Karen, Michelle, Dana, and Mike. Audrey carried a passion for music her entire life, learning to play the piano as a young child and she passed this passion on to her children. She became an accomplished organist, serving as a congregational organist for well over 40 years. Following Hector’s passing in 2005, Audrey moved close to family in Gilbert, Arizona in 2006 and later to Mapleton, UT in 2021 to live her final years with her oldest daughter Julie and son-in-law Robin. Audrey is survived by her 5 children, 19 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
